Right now we have the coronavirus 19 pandemic.
The Left Coast Crime 2020 conference in San Diego was cancelled after the first day. I wanted to thank the many volunteers who worked so hard to put together this conference.
We are dealing with the pandemic in different ways. Because many of us have "shelter in place", we are not going out. Some of us are going out and maintaining SIX FEET OF SOCIAL DISTANCING. A relative walking their dog yesterday waved to neighbors from across the street. Heartfelt thanks to the health workers (hospital workers, doctors, nurses, EMTs..), mail workers (delivery and post office), bookstore warehouse workers putting together online orders, grocery shop clerks and restaurant delivery workers. Anyone else who are doing essential work during these turbulent times - THANK YOU!
We ordered books online from local indie bookstores. We pre-ordered books.
Some of us who have school children are working with teachers to continue lesson plans. Some of us are darning socks. Some of us are reading books that we have been wanting to read. Some of us are working from home. Some of us are binge-watching.
