I am booked for the weekend

15 February 2020

Today is Saturday and I am booked for the weekend.  Last Thursday it was Galentine's Day.  Yesterday it was Valentine's Day.

Regarding romance novels, I discovered through a Romance Book Bingo that I have only read one current romance novel - the Kiss Quotient.  It was a quick read for me.  It was a cute story.  I gravitate towards historical romance novels like the Scottish Highland clans series by Amanda Scott.  Now I am discovering classics like Georgette Heyer, who wrote romance novels, before I was born.

My current reading is prolific.  I am doing a buddy read for Leaving Everything Most Loved Behind by Jacqueline Winspear.  We are reading a Nancu Drew mystery "The Secret of the Old Clock" for the Nancy Drew Book Crew.  I am also reading the Scent Keeper for the Reese Book Club.  And I am reading the Parker Pyne Investigates by Agatha Christie for an Agatha Christie book club.

It is the 15th of February and so far I finished one book.  I read Above the Bay of the Angels by Rhys Bowen.  It is a standalone novel set in the reign of Queen Victoria.  I loved the book.  It is about a young woman, who stumbles upon an opportunity and runs with it!

My Book of the Month selection for February was the Louding Voice.

This morning I read a guest post over at Jungle Red Writers blog.

January 2020 Books

For my birthday, I received many wonderful books, including the Dutch House by Ann Patchett and A Single Thread by Tracy Chevalier.
